Smeagol & Nash pet portraits are highly detailed, intricate drawings that take many hours and cups of tea to produce. The artist Kristy has been drawing for many years and the idea for pet portraits came about after photographing and drawing her two cats, Smeagol and Nash. We hope you enjoy the site. Kristy studied graphic design for four years, completing a diploma followed by a degree in graphic design and illustration. During her studies she received a Dux award and gained entry to her universitys Golden Key Society. She has been a WSPA (World Society for the Protection of Animals) member for over 6 years. Originally from the UK, Kristy currently resides in Australia. She loves organic chocolate, contemporary art, 80s culture and Nick Caves music.

Scottish Fold Cat

This drawing was completed with watercolour pencils. Watercolour pencils tend to sink into the paper rather than sitting on top, which allows the dark background to show through. The result is a little bit dark and brooding. | 13.04.2009
